National Environmental Contracting, Inc. will remove 876 feet of an abandoned gas pipeline with presumed asbestos-containing coal tar coating at 2673 Outer Loop. The asbestos abatement for Waste Management of Kentucky LLC is scheduled Aug. 19–Sept. 19, 2026, and crews plan to wrap and remove the pipe intact, isolate the work area, use proper PPE, and dispose of materials as needed so the landfill can expand.
