431 E Liberty Street applied for demolition permits
Louisville Metro Housing Authority has filed an asbestos abatement permit to prep the former First Link Grocery Store for demolition at 431 E Liberty St, targeting removal of roofing felts, caulking, flashing, mastic, floor tiles, and sink undercoats throughout areas from the entry foyer and hallways to the deli, tobacco store, lab, and basement locker rooms. Cardinal Industrial Insulation Company Inc. will perform the wet-method removals starting June 2, 2026 through October 2, 2026, with waste hauled by Gotta Go to WM Outer Loop Landfill; the two-story, 31,446-square-foot building dates to 1903.
