234 E Gray St Issued permit for asbestos abatement at Norton MTS shafts
National Environmental Contracting, Inc. has an issued asbestos abatement permit to spot-remove presumed spray-on fireproofing in the elevator shafts at Norton Properties Inc.’s building at 234 E Gray St. The work is limited to Elevator Shafts 1, 2 & 3 to allow others to install new electrical conduit and reinsulate, with about 45 sq ft of friable material expected to be removed and roughly 1 cubic yard of waste. The job is scheduled from July 31 to October 31, 2026, and will use mini-containments with negative pressure, HEPA vacuums, wet mopping, and PPE so other materials shouldn’t be disturbed.
