National Environmental Contracting, Inc. will drill holes through presumed asbestos-containing floor tile and mastic at the Louisville P&DC workroom, 1420 Gardiner Ln, to create mounting points for a new mail sorting machine; no other materials will be disturbed. The United States Postal Service owns the building and the abatement—scheduled for June 30 to July 14, 2026—will use isolation, wet methods, HEPA vacuums, signage, and PPE to keep asbestos from becoming airborne.
