Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government has an asbestos abatement planned for Churchill Downs Skye Terrace at 700 Central Ave, removing floor tile and mastic from the stair towers as part of a structure demolition. Sunesis Environmental LLC will use wet-method removal on roughly 5,000 sq ft of mastics, asphalt, and textiles, with Republic Services hauling about 42 cubic yards of waste to Valley View Landfill; work is scheduled from May 5, 2026 to Dec. 25, 2026.
