2300 S FIRST STREET WALK applied for asbestos permit for caulk removal

University of Louisville has filed an asbestos abatement permit for Schneider Hall at 2300 S First Street Walk to remove exterior window caulk on the south side of the building. Romac, Inc. will perform a wet-method removal of about 12 square feet of Category I/II caulking (roughly 0.25 cubic yards of waste) between May 6 and June 6, 2026, with Republic Services hauling material to Pearl Hollow Landfill — the record notes no other asbestos-containing materials will be disturbed, so it looks like a focused caulk-only job.
