9831 EAST AVE Environmental permit for asbestos abatement at Layne Elementary
Jefferson County Public Schools (owner: Jefferson County School District Fin) plans to remove failing floor tile and the associated adhesive mastic from Classroom 215 at Layne Elementary, 9831 East Ave. RH Environmental will carry out the asbestos abatement under an initial renovation permit scheduled 03/27/2026–03/30/2026 using wet, non-friable methods, HEPA vacuums, sealed disposal bags, and disposal at WM - Outer Loop Landfill for about 780 sq ft (roughly 0.3 cubic yards) of flooring and mastic.
