302 E Muhammad Ali Blvd asbestos permit for Lion Eye Center classroom renovation

Abatement Solutions Technologies, Inc will perform asbestos abatement during a classroom renovation at the Lion Eye Center, 302 E Muhammad Ali Blvd, on behalf of the Commonwealth Of Kentucky (Grawmeyer Hall). The work is scheduled for February 19–26, 2026, and targets about 20 sq ft of presumed asbestos-containing laboratory countertops in Room 002; crews will remove the countertops intact, wrap them in two layers of 6‑mil poly, and run negative air machines with supervisors Robert Choate, Gerlin Hechavarria, and Doug Amshoff on site. Disposal is planned at WM – Outer Loop Landfill with roughly 5 cubic yards to be hauled at the end of the project, so it reads like a focused, contained removal rather than a full building gut.
