National Environmental Contracting, Inc. handled an emergency asbestos abatement at 400 E Gray St for owner Louisville Jefferson County Metro Government after an air-handler supply valve broke on 2/2/26, causing a water leak and shutdown. Crews removed about 3 linear feet of presumed asbestos-containing pipe insulation in the basement mechanical room using glove bags, HEPA vacuums, and wet mopping so the valve could be replaced and new insulation installed. The record notes trained supervisors were on site and roughly one cubic yard of material was disposed of at the Outer Loop landfill.
