1601 Roosevelt Ave Bowen Elementary applied for asbestos abatement permit
Jefferson County Public Schools has filed for asbestos abatement at Bowen Elementary, 1601 Roosevelt Ave — the owner is Jefferson County School District Fin — to remove about 780 sq ft of floor tile and adhesive mastic from Classroom 113. RH Environmental will perform non‑friable removal using hand tools or an electric floor scraper with wet methods, HEPA vacuuming, sealed polyethylene bags, and disposal at Outer Loop Landfill; the work is scheduled for Feb. 27–Mar. 2, 2026.
