140 W Market St applied for asbestos abatement permit for demolition

140 West Acquisition LLC has applied for asbestos abatement at 140 W Market St so the former E<W Women's Surgical Center can be cleared for demolition by another party; Bluegrass Technologies Corporation is doing the abatement and hauling, with waste bound for WM Outer Loop Landfill and work scheduled Jan. 14–Feb. 28, 2026. The one-story, 2,000-square-foot building (built 1968 and now vacant) will have small amounts removed — roughly 40 sq ft of floor tile and sheeting, 1 sq ft of mastics, and a few feet of electric wrap — all handled with wet removal methods.
