262 Saunders Ave COA submitted for rear bedroom addition with basement

Victor Arellano has applied for a Certificate of Appropriateness to add a single-story bedroom at the rear of his home at 262 Saunders Ave. The 14' x 13'8" (about 191 sq ft) addition includes excavation for new reinforced CMU foundation walls and a ground-level basement tied into the existing basement, with wood framing, matching siding/brick and shingle roofing. Basic interior finishes and tie-ins for electrical and HVAC are planned, the project cost is estimated at $13,000, and the work is being reviewed in the Clifton historic district.
