An encroachment permit has been submitted by Margaret King of Louisville Gas and Electric for work at 5317 Layne Rd on property owned by the George M Cheek Jr Living Trust. The project is a small excavation — a single 3' x 5' dirt cut — that will require a lane closure and is scheduled for July 8–August 5, 2026, so expect some short-term disruption while they dig in.
