402 MACLEAN AVE applied for asbestos abatement permit at Bluegrass Cooperage

Rudolph Hardin, LLC is handling asbestos abatement at the former Bluegrass Cooperage at 402 Maclean Ave for owner Louisville Regional Airport Authority, with work scheduled from 08/12/2026 to 09/30/2026. Buildings 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 were identified with asbestos and all except Building 5 are slated for demolition; friable pipe insulation in Building 1 will be removed by glovebag while most other materials (mastics, roofing felts, transite, caulking) will be manually removed using wet methods. Disposal is planned as needed (about 120 cubic yards) with WM Outer Loop Landfill and Estes Waste Solutions listed, and several certified supervisors will be on site during abatement.
