401 E CHESTNUT ST encroachment permit issued for curb lane and sidewalk closures

Louisville Gas & Electric Company is doing underground electrical work at 401 E Chestnut St (owned by the University of Louisville), with work scheduled roughly June 12–July 10, 2026. Expect the northernmost eastbound curb lane and the adjacent sidewalk to be closed while crews perform a 3' x 360' asphalt cut to install underground electrical conduit; cuts will be restored under LMPW restoration policy and the project is listed as a restoration of an earlier permit, about 50% complete.
