957 Ellison Ave encroachment permit for lane and sidewalk closures

Louisville Gas & Electric Company is planning to replace 34 utility poles along Ellison Avenue between Dandridge Avenue and Julia Avenue, affecting 957 Ellison Ave, which is owned by 957 Ellison Avenue Land Trust. Crews will periodically close eastbound and westbound curb lanes (not at the same time) and may close the southernmost and northernmost sidewalks; the work is scheduled for June 9–July 7, 2026 and is a continuation of an earlier permit but hasn't started yet. Line transfers and pole removals will be coordinated through the National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS), so expect traffic and sidewalk detours while crews swap poles.
