433 S 5TH ST submitted for encroachment permit for clock tower crane inspection

Cabe Kline of BJB Architectural Metals Services Inc. plans a one-day masonry inspection of the Cathedral of the Assumption’s clock tower (owned by the Roman Catholic Bishop of Louisville) at 433 S 5th St, using a crane and man basket to reach up to the slate roof. The crane will be parked curb-to-curb on 5th Street and boomed over the east sidewalk in front of the church entrance, and because the building is individually landmarked, written Urban Design approval is required before work proceeds.
