117 W Main St encroachment permit submitted for fiber optic installation

Lumen, working with applicant OCM Engineering (Kimberly Schroer) and contractor Hutchins Telecom (Scott Huen), is installing new fiber at 117 W Main St — a property owned by Louisville Jefferson County Metro. Per a KYTC permit they’ll close the intersection at East Main and North First from May 15–19, 2026 to make a longitudinal open cut and install about 50 feet of three 1.25-inch HDPE conduits and fiber at a 42-inch minimum depth, then restore pavement curb-to-curb (pave, mill, seal) and road markings per Metro utility policy.
