Kiewit Infrastructure South Co. plans to close the E Kentucky / S 1st St intersection at 970 S 1st St (owned by First Street Realty LLC) as part of the I-65 Central Corridor project, affecting the area between 2nd and S Brook and between E Caldwell and St Catherine St. Work scheduled March 6–13, 2026 will remove stop lights, install overhead signs, restripe E Kentucky Street and stop bars, and add signage; no cuts or excavation are planned, and Field/Office Engineer Devin Henderson (502-790-4857, devin.henderson1@kiewit.com) is the contact—expect the intersection to be closed during that window, so plan alternate routes.
