1000 E Main Street encroachment permit issued for lane and sidewalk closures

Louisville Gas & Electric Company, with applicant Derek Wilkins, plans work on South Wenzel Street between East Main Street and East Market Street near 1000 E Main St, a property owned by Main Plumb LLC. Crews will replace one utility pole and have applied to close the northbound curb lane and the easternmost sidewalk from Feb 19 to Mar 19, 2026; the area around the pole will be restored under the LMPW restoration policy and line-transfer/pole-removal notifications will go through the National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS), so expect a short stretch of lane and sidewalk disruption while they swap the pole.
