1914 Mellwood Ave encroachment permit issued for curb lane closure and pole work

Louisville Gas & Electric Company will be doing utility work on Mellwood Avenue, replacing four poles and temporarily closing the southbound curb lane between Thompson Avenue and Edith Road near 1914 Mellwood Ave. The project lists Derek Wilkins as the applicant with Matcok Properties LLC as the owner and is scheduled from January 27 to February 24, 2026; the area around the poles will be restored under the LMPW restoration policy. Expect a brief curb-lane inconvenience along that stretch while crews swap out poles and tidy up afterward.
