1229 Fischer Ave Encroachment Permit for Curb Lane and Sidewalk Closures

Louisville Gas and Electric (applicant Kaitlyn Downs) will be working on Fischer Ave between Rufer Ave and Ellison Ave, impacting the block in front of 1229 Fischer Ave, owned by The Cheryl A Allen Living Trust. Crews will close the southbound curb lane and the westernmost sidewalk from Jan. 20 to Feb. 17, 2026 to perform nine pole replacements, with line transfers and pole removals coordinated through the national utilities notification system. Sidewalk panels that are cut or removed must be replaced in full under the city's utility restoration policy, so expect temporary lane and sidewalk disruptions while the work is underway.
