220 Abraham Flexner Way requested partial road closure for AHU crane lift

Calhoun Construction (applicant Matt Killinder) is requesting a temporary full closure of Abraham Flexner Way so a mobile crane can hoist new air-handling unit sections up to the 5th-floor mechanical level of the Frazier Rehabilitation Institute at 220 Abraham Flexner Way, a property owned by the University of Louisville. The lift will use a roughly 197-foot main boom and hoist sections of about 4,960 pounds with full outrigger deployment, exclusion zones, NCCCO-certified operators, barricades, signage, and flaggers to keep pedestrians and traffic clear. Work is planned to begin the afternoon/evening of January 30, 2026, with the street restored by 5 p.m. on January 31, 2026.
