Owner Edward Bowden has an open property-maintenance (code violation) case for the condemned structure at 2222 Lauderdale Rd, Unit 3 after a December 2025 fire; the unit reportedly has no running water or electricity. City notes describe overgrown grass and shrubs, trash and a can left out front for weeks, an unboarded garage unit, junk stored in the backyard, occasional rotting food on the lawn, and people sometimes sleeping in a truck or car on the property.
The city has not published a date for when this began.
