Churchill Downs is getting a walk-in cooler at 700 Central Ave
A walk-in cooler with a remote refrigeration system is in the works at Churchill Downs’ Home Stretch Expansion, right at 700 Central Ave.
It’s a single cooler, somewhere around $35,000, so this one’s about keeping things cold, not making noise. The city hasn’t signed off yet, so it’s still in the works.

The city has not published a date for when this began.
