2722 Cedar St applied for asbestos abatement permit to allow demolition

Cedar Street of Derby City Restoration has an emergency asbestos abatement permit to clear asbestos-containing materials so the building at 2722 Cedar St can be demolished under a Louisville Metro order. Cardinal Industrial Insulation Company, Inc. will remove about 10 feet of roof flashing (Category I/II ACM) from the entire roof using wet methods, with waste hauled by Republic Services and taken to WM Outer Loop Landfill. Work is scheduled to start Jan. 30, 2026 and run through Apr. 30, 2026 for the small, vacant 768-square-foot former residence.
